Featured Artwork: Tunnel Vision

Inspired by the extraordinary beauty of creation, artist Todd Mitchell brings nature to life through remarkable color, depth, and detail.

Created through dozens of layers of oil paint and elevated by 24-karat gold, Kauaʻi koa wood, and an extraordinary architectural glass-and-metal structure, every element works in harmony to reveal something greater than the sum of its parts.

More than a celebration of nature’s beauty, Todd’s artwork embodies a powerful truth: brilliance is all around us, often waiting to be discovered. Through art, Todd seeks to reveal the extraordinary in creation—and inspire people to recognize the extraordinary brilliance within themselves.

The Extraordinary, Made Tangible.

  • Introducing Tunnel Vision.

Tunnel Vision is the inaugural artwork created in the proprietary Trielle™ format—a fusion of museum-quality oil painting, sculptural architectural framing, and dimensional design.

Inspired by Tunnels Beach, Kauai, the work combines layered oil painting with four sculpted pillars of hand-cast glass, forged steel, sustainably sourced curly koa, and accents of 24-karat gold.

  • The Extraordinary Revealed.

Created over two years, the piece is designed to engage viewers differently from every distance.

From across the room it presents one experience; as you move closer, hidden layers, textures, and details continually reveal themselves—an experience that inspired its name, Tunnel Vision.

This remains the only completed artwork in the Trielle™ format. A very limited number of future works featuring other iconic locations are currently in development.

  • Glass Architecture that creates its own art category.

The sculptural cast glass frame is not simply a presentation—it is part of the artwork itself.

Each element is hand cast to capture and refract light, echoing the clarity and movement of the Pacific while creating changing reflections throughout the day. No two glass components are identical.

Rather than surrounding the painting, the architectural frame extends it, creating a presentation that exists somewhere between fine art, sculpture, and architectural design.

  • A Convergence of Nature, Craftsmanship and Imagination.

Accents of hand-applied 24-karat gold appear throughout the frame and within the artist's signature, serving as lasting symbols of authenticity, rarity, and permanence.

Together with dimensional oil painting, sculptural cast glass, forged steel, and figured curly koa, each material was selected to contribute to a single artistic vision rather than simply decorate it.

The result is not a painting accompanied by a frame—it is one integrated work where fine art, natural materials, and architectural craftsmanship converge into a singular creation.
